Itinerary At Glance

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT

Today you will arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by a GoExplore representative who will then transfer you to your accommodation for overnight.

DAY 2 – TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK 

Queen Elizabeth National Park is understandably Uganda’s most popular tourist destination. The park’s diverse ecosystems, which include sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds.

Set against the backdrop of the jagged Rwenzori Mountains, the park’s magnificent vistas include dozens of enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills, panoramic views of the Kazinga Channel with massive schools of hippos, buffalo and elephants, you will arrive at the lodge late in the afternoon and do an evening game drive.

Day 3 – MORNING BOAT CRUISE & TRANSFER TO ISHASHA SECTOR 

Today, we head out for the Boat cruise and later transfer to the Southern Sector of Queen Elizabeth with the endless Ishasha plains, whose fig trees hide lions ready to pounce on herds of unsuspecting Uganda kob. We shall relax at the lodge and depart for the evening game drive searching of the famous lions.

Day 4 – TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK 

This morning, we shall rise up early and set out for a game drive and then back to the lodge at 8:00hrs in the morning for breakfast, and freshen up then we proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with the breathtaking views of the volcanoes.

  • Medium Range: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge 

DAY 5 – GORILLA TRACKING

After breakfast with your packed lunch, your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for briefing about the do’s and don’ts during your gorilla trekking. Your gorilla family tracking will start immediately after the briefing. This is a memorable and an amazing experience watching the Mountain gorillas feed, play around and also do their day to day activities. This activity can take 2 hours or even up to 8 hours since its dependent on the location and movement of the gorillas. Also expect to walk long distances in muddy and steep conditions- this will require you to have a walking stick. On meeting the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them as you take photos. Later, trek back to the park headquarters to pick your certificates and return back to the lodge.  

In the evening, you may choose to relax at the lodge or visit the Batwa community which will expose you to their culture basing on how they live, dance, and also hearing stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed.

DAY 6 – TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Have breakfast at leisure and you will transfer to Lake Mburo national park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park that has unique wildlife species. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and later do an evening game drive.

  • High end: Mihingo Lodge 
  • Medium Range: Rwakobo Rock Lodge 

DAY 7 – TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE

You will have breakfast at leisure, do a game drive as you embark on your journey to Entebbe. You will have a stopover at the uganda equator for lunch and photography moments and proceed to Entebbe reaching in time for your COVID-19 Tests and proceed to the lodge.

DAY 8 – FLY OUT

After breakfast at the lodge, you will visit the Botanical Gardens as you wait for COVID-19 Test Results. After lunch, you will transfer to the airport to connect to your outbound flight back home.

  • Gorilla permits per person as specified in the itinerary. 
    • Gorilla tracking is subject to availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day.
    • Any Gorilla permit required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.  
    • Gorilla permits cannot be held with the Uganda Wildlife Authority in advance of payment and Rwanda Development Board – they are only secured once physically paid for.
    • Gorilla permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.
    •There is a minimum age limit for gorilla tracking which is strictly 15 years

Exclusions

  • International flights and applicable airport departure taxes 
  • All passport and visa fees (Visa: US$ 50 per person for entry into Uganda – easily obtainable at the Airport) 
  • Meals not specified (including lunch and other meal stops between properties on overland sectors)
  • Drinks where not stipulated in itinerary
  • Items of a personal nature: fax, telephone, etc. 
  • Laundry in Entebbe/Kampala
  • Gratuities for guide/driver/hotel staff 
  • Any extras and additional activities not mentioned in the itinerary 
  • Travel/medical insurance
  • Trip cancellation, travel delay or baggage insurance. 
  • Charges incurred as a result of delays beyond our control. 
  • All statutory increases beyond our control.
