Dar es Salaam is the business capital of the United Republic of Tanzania. Dar es Salaam, is an Arabic word that means “HEAVEN OF PEACE”. Dares Salaam became an urban area after Sultan Sayyid Majid of Zanzibar decided to develop. the area’s inland harbor into a port and trading center, and named the site Dar Es Salaam, however the Sultan died and the town sunk again into anonymity, overshadowed by Bagamoyo, an important dhow port to the north.

Pick-up Time: 08:30 am- 05:30 pm

Our happy clients will be picked up at the Zanzibar port to the Airport to catch their 10:00 am flight to Dar es Salaam and be picked by Experiential Travel Africa Expedition Leader to start their Dar es Salaam City Tour. The tour features an experience of the Magogoni fish Market, Historical buildings i.e. Arabs, Germany, British, Ujamaa Era (African socialism 1967-1985), Monuments LIKE Askari Monuments unveiled in 1927 by the British but before was a statue of Herman Von Wissman erected in 1911. Liberation movement sites, Botanical Garden, Kariakoo, Slipway, University of Dar es Salaam and an In depth and comprehensive tour with an expert guide. Clients will have lunch later and wind up the day by checking in their hotel for rest and evening leisure time.

Pick up Time: 07:00 am- 04:30 pm

After an early morning Breakfast, clients will check out the hotel and start their journey to explore Bagamoyo. Bagamoyo Town was the legendary ivory and slave trading port for east & central Africa during the late 19th century. Situated just 60 km from Dar es Salaam it makes a perfect day excursion for city visitors and those from docking cruise ships. Designated as Tanzania’s seventh world heritage site, it is the oldest town in Tanzania and was the last resting place of the legendary explorer Dr. David Livingston until his body was shipped back to be buried in Westminster Abbey, London. Things to see/Activities; Kaole ruins, dated back to 12 century as
Persian settlement in East African Coast, Caravan serai, a house where slaves were kept before shipped to Zanzibar and further, Germany Boma, First East African Post office established by Germany, A door where the body of Dr. Livingstone passed after he died in
Zambia, Bagamoyo Historical stone town, with narrow streets like Zanzibar, Nice and clean beach.
Later on after having snacks & drinks clients will depart by early afternoon hours to catch the 3:40 pm flight back to Zanzibar and will be transferred to the Port.
